In plain terms. The Cybersecurity Act of 2015 was enacted as Division N of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2016. Its centerpiece, the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA), authorizes private entities to share cyber threat indicators and defensive measures with the federal government and each other, and provides liability protection for sharing conducted in accordance with the Act. It directs DHS to operate an automated, real-time information-sharing capability and addresses federal network security and workforce assessment.
