The Federal Information Technology Acquisition Reform Act, enacted within the FY2015 NDAA, significantly strengthened agency CIO authority over IT budgeting, acquisition, and management. Stronger centralized IT governance under FITARA supports more consistent enforcement of agency cybersecurity requirements.
