The Homeland Security Information Sharing Act, enacted as part of the Homeland Security Act of 2002, directs the President to establish procedures for sharing homeland security information—including classified and sensitive but unclassified information—among federal, state, and local agencies. It is part of the post-9/11 architecture for inter-governmental threat information sharing.
