Authorize Remote Privileged Access
Official citation: 3.1.15
Class: core · Severity: high
Statement of the obligation — verify against source
3.1.15
What it means
Specifically authorize remote execution of privileged commands and remote access to security-relevant information. Privileged commands control, monitor, or administer the system and its security functions; security-relevant information is anything that could affect how those security functions operate. Tightly controlling these from remote locations keeps unauthorized people from freely running high-impact commands that could do serious or catastrophic damage.
