Govern how mobile devices — smartphones, tablets, e-readers, and similar portable, self-powered devices — connect to your systems. Because device types vary widely, set usage restrictions and safeguards such as device identification and authentication, configuration management, malware protection, patching, and integrity checks, and disable unnecessary features like unused wireless or infrared. Many additional mobile protections are addressed by other requirements.
